Overview

Assist the Bank’s General Counsel by performing a wide variety of legal duties including but not limited to research, review and preparation of legal documents, legal invoice processing, and act as liaison with various internal and external parties

 

Responsibilities

  • Work with retail branches and back-office departments to address, advise and resolve consumer and business client legal matters including powers of attorney, guardianships, decedent paperwork, trusts and court orders.
  • Assist with contract review and administration.
  • Assist General Counsel with internal investigations and documentation.
  • Manage and monitor the legal invoicing process; assist in the transition to an electronic legal invoicing system.
  • Assist with subpoena responses; lien/levy processing, as necessary.
  • Assist General Counsel with bank-wide projects and initiatives, as necessary.
  • Organize and maintain legal department electronic files.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Paralegal Certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 - 6 years of in-house paralegal experience required.
  • Advanced MS Office proficiency preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Acute attention to detail and excellent proof-reading skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment
  • Proficient in fact finding and documentation
  • Demonstrates a high level of professionalism in dealing with confidential and sensitive issues.
