Overview

The Regional Sales & Development Manager is responsible for leading a defined set of retail branches within the Retail Bank network. Attainment of annual regional goals set forth which disseminate to the branch teams. Provide oversight, guidance and coaching and coordinate the sales activities for the retail branches. A leader within the Retail Banking team and partner with other areas of the Bank to support deployment of overall strategies and initiatives. Analyze the efficiency of the branch teams and ensure productivity and all service standards are met. Exercises the usual authority of a manager concerning performance appraisals, career advancement and disciplinary issues. Manage their team and hold them accountable to the brand and core values of Kearny Bank.

Responsibilities

Provide oversight and guidance to assigned teams as it relates to sales activities, business development and overall strategies and initiatives. Provide guidance needed for teams to be successful with outside prospecting and relationship building. Assists retail teams with the support of significant community events in their region.
• Develop, implement, and manage a detailed business plan and participate in establishing team sales and service goals.
• Responsible for retail sales and service goals. Manage, coach, and provide feedback for Retail Relationship Market Managers and Retail Relationship Managers to help them achieve their retail sales objectives. Tracks and monitors retail goals and targets. Ensures execution of sales strategies and objectives
• Collaborate closely with SVP Director of Retail and Consumer Deposits & 1st VP Retail Sales & Development Leader to assist with strategic focus build-out, tactical planning, and execution around goals and opportunities within the team.
• Implement and execute business strategies to improve and sustain retail-banking performance growth objectives.
• Drive key activities related to human capital and the role it plays in a high performing organization (e.g., talent selection, retention, employee training and development, engagement, succession planning).
• Building strong internal collaboration with the mortgage, business lending, consumer lending, treasury management, and investment lines of business to achieve consistent go-to-market messaging and referral sources from the retail network.
• Oversee all sales aspects of Retail Banking. Ensure that the teams are adequately trained and knowledgeable to safely and accurately service clients. Ensure the branches are profitable. Visit branches on a regularly scheduled (minimum) monthly basis.
• Responsible for deposit growth within the assigned branches. Working closely with teams to consistently meet and exceed annual deposit growth metrics through analysis, training, and business development in the markets and communities we serve.
• Expand and retain client relationships, actively cross-sell and resolve client issues. Support segmentation strategy with existing clients by implementing sales, retention, and other bank initiatives to support retail growth and profitability objectives.
• Drive high performance by holding team accountable for superior results. Enhance employee engagement by providing team with coaching, support, timely and constructive performance feedback. Provide opportunity in career growth and recognize and reward employees for accomplishments.
• Within a defined set of branches within the Retail Network facilitates the effectiveness of branches and retail staff by analyzing performance data, developing action plans with the RRM/RRMM to drive sales plans and address performance gaps. Ensures effective execution of the bank strategy and communicate and manage performance expectations.
• Deploys key retail initiatives and take active leadership roles in key projects to ensure successful implementation.

Provides leadership, coaching and supervision of retail teams. Deploys consistent sales process and sales playbook with continuous coaching for improvement. Attains bank goals through active participation in the sales management process. Works with Retail Relationship Market Managers and Retail Relationship Managers, partners and the Retail Sales and Development Leader to analyze client and market data to identify potential sales and service opportunities. Coaches retail teams to leverage lead generation techniques. Integrate, prioritize, and manage promotional campaigns.

Evaluate and deliver the performance review of Retail Relationship Market Managers and Retail Relationship Managers. Proactively sources and identifies talent in each defined market. Develops high potential employees to build bench strength. Participates in the interview and recruitment process of employees. Oversees all performance management issues and works directly with the Human Resources Department to effectively navigate through all employee relations issues.

Embeds the principles behind the compensation program to ensure motivation of the right behaviors. Ensures that the execution of all programs recognizes, rewards and reinforces outstanding employee performance and client satisfaction. Review all relative reports to ensure integrity.

Performs other job related job duties as may be assigned.

In the performance of respective duties, must maintain knowledge of and ensure compliance with Bank Secrecy Act regulations and all other regulatory, security and bank policies.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

10+ years’ experience in the banking/financial services industry sales space in management/leadership role with proven track record managing/leading a team.

Demonstrated capacity to meet and exceed sales goals and create and lead the implementation of a high performance client delivery team that drives business results.

Proven ability to manage and develop affluent and commercial client relationships.

Influencing skills and proven ability to build strong collaboration routines with partners.

Strong commitment to team coaching and development.

Demonstrated ability to provide leadership.

Proven Retail Bank product knowledge for services to all types of client demographics.

In depth knowledge of the competitive banking landscape.

Strong Interpersonal, sales and relationship management skills.

Experience in attracting, managing, developing and retaining highly competent and committed group of retail staff.

High-energy and results-oriented.
