Overview

SCCM Administrator, reporting directly to the VP of Enterprise Architecture, will drive all operational aspects of SCCM including developing and implementing a security strategy, deploying application packages and building / executing an application roadmap for the Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager application. The successful candidate will have a deep technical knowledge of SCCM, including architecture and a broad background supporting Microsoft technologies with a demonstrated history of successfully deploying, configuring, supporting and maintaining Configuration Manager. This individual will partner with his / her peers in IT to drive the implementation, configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance of SCCM including (but not limited to) Software Packaging, Imaging and patching, with minimal to limited day to day supervision. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of working with SCCM and be a mid-career professional looking to expand their career.

Responsibilities

  • Configuring and troubleshooting software deployments (including Windows Updates) and SCCM client-side issues
  • Engage and work side by side with other Engineers proving services including OS Imaging, Software Packaging and Deployment
  • Research, Recommend, Evaluate, and implement SCCM roadmap to support future IT initiatives (experience in cloud technologies a plus)
  • Perform and test SCCM server stack routine system backups and restores.
  • Plans for preventative maintenance, and disaster recovery.
  • Participates in the planning and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure system provisioning and maintenance that is consistent with company goals, industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Curate and maintain the Software Center application portal.
  • Customize device collections for targeted installation/reporting for Windows desktops.
  • Maintain endpoint imaging deployment tasks including optimization of deployment/management processes.
  • Create and maintain driver packages for supported systems (HP Desktops/Workstations, Laptops, All-in-ones).
  • Assist/Contribute to any integration efforts of other tools (Service Now, AD, etc.)
  • Knowledge of PowerShell scripts for the purpose of automating software deployments via SCCM
  • Assist with management of PatchMyPC 3rd party update services.
  • Develop, analyze, and troubleshoot, SCCM policy implementation.
  • Configuring and troubleshooting on premise and cloud SCCM infrastructure.
  • Assist with management of Windows servers ranging from Windows 2008 to Windows 2019
  • Perform security procedures and follow policies to ensure compliance with regulatory and legal policies.

Qualifications

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Have a minimum of 1 or 2 years of experience in a similar position.

Have a minimum of at least 1 year of experience with the SCCM solution

 

  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) current branch - deployment, administration, configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance in an enterprise environment.
  • 5+ years hands-on technical experience administering Microsoft Windows-based systems at an enterprise level.
  • Strong working knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, LDAP, DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, WMI.
  • Competent in SQL, WQL, PowerShell scripting is a plus.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems including Server 2008R2/2012R2/2016/2019 and Windows 10/11
  • Competent management of competing priorities and workloads
  • Demonstrated experience participating in incident, problem, and change control processes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including creation of technical documentation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work in a team environment.

 

  • Proficient Windows Desktop OS Deployment.

 

  • Maintain endpoint imaging deployment tasks including optimization of deployment/management processes.
  • Familiar with security best practices as they relate to Information Systems.
